Spotlight Initiative Learning Brief: UNICEF’s lessons learned from the Spotlight Initiative to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls in Latin America and the Caribbean

This brief synthesizes insights from the experiences of UNICEF’s Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) and Country Offices (CO) in the region implementing the Spotlight Initiative to inform future programming, policy development, and partnership strategies for addressing the interconnected issues of violence against children (VAC) and violence against women (VAW). It offers practical guidance for policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working to create a safer, more equitable environment for women and children in the region and beyond.

Gender and Immunization: Global Gender Analysis Tool

This global tool can provide guidance on collecting adequate gender data to support UNICEF offices, governments, and partners across regions and countries in these efforts. The purpose of this global standard tool is to guide an analysis that examines the underlying drivers of gender and intersecting inequalities, and to identify actionable entry points for field-level programming to help catalyze structural changes on vaccine access and usage.

On February 22-24, 2023, members of the AI4COVID research teams COLEV, ACADIC, APHRC and UCAD convened in Nairobi, Kenya for the third and final workshop of the Gender Action Learning (GAL) process, a peer-based learning methodology for building gender-responsive capacity, which they had engaged in since July 2021.
